1. To eliminate confusion, all assignment deadlines will be posted in the title. All voicethreads must be posted after class on the same day as the live speeches. We will try to get in as many live speeches as possible, so voicethreads are only for people who are not able to give a live speech in class. Uploaders for voicethreads appear in the lesson block that introduced the speech assignment, not the block with the same date the assignment is due.

4. Platform Events
Platform events are speech events that include a wide variety of topics. Choose something that interests you. Would you like to share information about some special skill you have? Would you like to persuade others to think similarly to you? This is a perfect time to develop a platform speech.

5. Platform Events
Platform speeches need to be written by you, points within the speech need to be researched by you, and the speech needs to be typed neatly and submitted as the guidelines state on each website of the league in which you will be competing. Platforms are 10 minutes in length in competition and follow the same basic format of all other speeches.

6. Online Video
Let's watch a platform speech that went to nationals. Illustrated Oratory and Expository are the same events, just different leagues. This is a fun platform event if you like to walk a viewer through your presentation and have pictures to support your speech.

7. Homework
Homework page can be downloaded and uploaded on the main course page. All homework must be uploaded prior to the next class or you will receive a zero. No late homework is accepted.
Platform Websites (Stoa & NCFCA) Write a 10 minute speech (time yourself at home) and have it ready by Monday to present to the class. There are different types of platform speeches. Make sure you know which one you are doing! If you don’t give your speech in class you will make a voicethread.
