How and why did WW2 begin? The leaders involved in WW2. The Holocaust- what is it? Who was involved? How WW2 changed the world- lasting effects How do we remember those people that died? Investigate primary and secondary sources English Anne Frank- diary writing. Rose Blanche- comparison to Anne Frank. Poetry – Flanders Fields. SPaG work – Tense consistently and correctly and use for deliberate effect Appropriate language – formal/information Relative clauses Modal verbs First person Spelling groups/tests Guided reading- comprehension SAT papers. Computing Create a Sway- including photos and video links. Coding- binary numbers Curriculum Overview Year 6: Term 2 Maths Fractions: adding and subtracting, comparing, ordering, simplifying. Decimals: identify value of digits, multiply decimals by whole numbers, solve problems. Percentages: calculate different percentages, solve problems. Equivalences between fractions, decimals and percentages (0.25= ¼= 25%) Written methods of calculation: long multiplication. Word problems/reasoning (test type questions) Times tables tests.
