Tag question We use tag question at the end of affirmative or negative statements to ask for confirmation or to validate information. An affirmative statement is followed by a negative tag, and vice versa. Tag is always separated from the statement by a comma. Example: You like French food, don´t you? He can play table tennis, can´t he?
2
. The verb of the tag must match that of the statement: if the verb to be, so is the tag ; if the verb is present simple, the tag is do, does, don´t or doesn´t; if the verb is past simple, the tag is did or didn´t, etc. Example: It is going to rain, isn´t it? He shouldn´t play with that, should he? They are working, aren´t they?
