5 YSU CCP Admission Requirements
At least 2.0 cumulative unweighted GPA Minimum 17 composite ACT or SAT evidence-based writing/reading and math combined score of at least 910 College ready benchmark met in at least one area (ACT English 18, ACT Reading 22, or ACT Math 22)  Passage of state exams Admission does NOT guarantee course placement; requirements vary by course!

6 CCP Application Process
Sign up to take ACT or SAT Submit letter of intent by April 1, 2018 Submit a complete application by the appropriate application deadline - New Student Application or Continuing Student Form - Official transcript - ACT/SAT scores - Parental consent form Campus education plan (on-campus or on-line courses) Letter of recommendation (conditional eligibility)

8 Student Eligibility Students must be remediation-free in accordance to one of the assessments in the Uniform Statewide Standards for Remediation-Free Status document ORC

10 Student Eligibility Conditional Eligibility (see handout)
If scores within “conditional range” AND has a 3.0 GPA, then student is eligible to participate OR If scores within “conditional range” AND obtains a recommendation from a school counselor, principal, or career-tech advisor, then student is eligible to participate. ORC

11 Student Eligibility Assessment Testing Threshold Scores

12 Assessment for Eligibility
Requires institution of higher education to pay for one assessment to determine student eligibility ORC

13 YSU Eligibility Test - Accuplacer
Pending final approval by Academic Senate on December 6 Students test in English, Math and Reading and must meet the scores listed in the state SEM’s Students who are eligible, but still not meeting course placement requirements, will be offered YSU placement exams

14 YSU Eligibility Test Who should take the Eligibility test?
ONLY students who have NOT taken the ACT/SAT OR met the ACT Composite 17 or SAT combined score of 910 How do students register for testing? Students call the CCP office ( ) and should be prepared to provide name, address, phone, address and what school district they are enrolled in

15 YSU Eligibility Test - Deadlines
Deadline to Complete Eligibility Testing Non-public school students, regardless of term – March 20 Summer 2018 – March 20 Fall 2018/Spring 2019 – April 20 What if our application day is prior to the deadline? Students can still apply. Once the results come in, and provided it was completed by the deadline above, we will decide eligibility and notify the student

16 Orientation & Advising
*Attendance at a CCP Orientation & Advising Day is required for all new CCP students. Continuing CCP students must complete the continuing student Blackboard advisement course. Desired Start Term Course Location Orientation Dates Summer 2018 On-campus or On-line May 2, 2018 Fall 2018 or Spring 2019 July 18, 2018 July 26, 2018 High School Based Only - 2 sessions offered each orientation day June 19, 2018 August 15, 2018 August 29, 2018 Combination of high school based courses and on-campus or on-line courses

17 Placement Testing Deadline
Once accepted, if students do not have 18 E, 22 R, 22 M they will be invited to the YSU campus to complete placement testing. Desired Start Term Placement Testing Deadline Summer 2018 April 20, 2018 Fall 2018 or Spring 2019 June 29, 2018

18 Non-Public and Homeschool Students
1. Sign up for a SAFE account between February 15 and April 1 (Parents) 2. Submit letter of intent through SAFE account to ODE between February 15 and April 1 3. Once the student receives CCP acceptance letter, apply for CCP funding between February 20 and Friday, April 13, 2018 at 5 p.m. (Parents) 4. Look to receive funding award notifications from the Ohio Department of Education before May 20.
