Planning Resources Slides 3-6 Teaching Resources Slides 7-27 Assessing Resources Slides 28-34 PRESENTATION INTRODUCTION The aim of this presentation is to provide users with a guide to the resources available in the Planning, Teaching and Assessing menu options. This presentation has been specifically designed to assist teacher leaders to take colleagues through the 3 key menu options. Individual teachers will equally benefit from independently going through the presentation. The presentation will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. However, it may take longer with group discussion time added in. It is recommended that you download and print a copy of the slides and notes. You can then refer to the notes with the presentation in Slide Show mode. Go to slide 2.

Our PLANNING resources describe the content you teach. Our TEACHING resources engage your students in learning. Our ASSESSING resources track your student achievements. Almost all resources in the MTSonline database are provided inside the 3 key menu options of Planning, Teaching and Assessing. Other web features such as a Lesson Planner and Calendar are also available in the Planning menu but are not described here. Visit the Help Menu>Planning and type in ‘Lesson Planner’ for more on these features. Go to slide 3.

Our PLANNING resources describe the content you teach.
The Planning Menu The content you teach is provided in a single page, tick-in-a-box Scope and Sequence Planner available in the Planning Menu. The content in each Planner – or Programme of Study - mirrors the content of the 2014 National Curriculum. Each Planner lists the content to be taught across EYF-Year 7. The 8 Planners together form a common curriculum framework. Go to slide 4.

Our PLANNING resources describe the content you teach.
‘Tick-off the content you plan to teach or have taught. Blue italics indicate the Statutory Content for this Year level. While not Statutory Content for this Year level, the content in black font should also be addressed so there is continuity of learning across year levels. This is the Scope and Sequence Planner for EYF. Scope: Because it provides the breadth of content to be taught at EYF. Sequence: Because there is a sequence of teaching Statutory Content priorities built into the 8 Planners (shown in blue italicised font). Note re Black Font Most of the content in black font has been sequenced (i.e. taught as a Statutory Content priority) at one or more previous year levels. Some black font content may also be a precursor to Statutory Content for the following year level. While they are not Statutory Content topics, the black font topics should not be ignored. Go to slide 7.

From this tab you can view and download the FlipCharts for the selected Topic. FlipCharts are the fourth resource option. FlipCharts are PowerPoint presentations for your IWB. FlipCharts have been purposely designed to help students construct mathematical understandings. As such they are, arguably, the most important resource in the database. FlipCharts should largely be used in conjunction with the explicit teaching model at an IWB. You can see more on using FlipCharts and explicit teaching by going to the Help Menu>Teaching and typing in ‘FlipCharts’. Note To fully appreciate the FlipCharts (including the samples on the following slides) you need to view them in Slide Show mode. The teaching steps – including questions to ask – are provided to support every FlipChart in the database. Go to slides 16, 17, 18, 19 to view sample FlipCharts (with their teaching notes) from different levels and topics.
