SEEDS & FERTILIZERS Farmers were unable to purchase inputs like certified HYV seeds from market. They were using old seeds from the last year harvest and not purchasing quality seeds from market. This will adversely affect crop yields despite good monsoon this year

MARKETING Agriculture is impacted through the input-output channels as well as price and output feedback effects. Sale, transport, marketing and distribution of ready produce to wholesale centers or mandis, is dominantly cash-dependent. 9/6/2018 6:53 PM TRANSPORTATION The demonetisation exercise has put the trucking business, one of the largest unorganised, cash-based sectors in the country, in great difficulty. Operators say their truck transport business has been badly hit by the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes as they have no new cash even to pay the drivers, while clients are finding it tough to pay them in the new currency. © 2014 Microsoft Corporation. EDUCATION Only about 30% of the Indian population has access to the banking system as per data compiled by the banking division of the finance ministry. Moreover, the distribution of banks is highly skewed with a third of all bank branches in only 60 Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities/towns. Consequently, people in rural India who often also suffer from inadequate information have become the worst victims of demonetisation.
14
POSITIVE EFFECT ON AGRICULTURE
With abundant money , the government can complete the pending irrigation project so that more land comes under irrigation and two crops instead of one crop can be taken by farmers. This will double up their income which Mr. Modi has promised to do. The bank interest rates started dropping which would reduce capital cost and farmers can now go for farm mechanisation. Government would build cold storage chain there by reducing wastage which are 80,000 cores annually.

CONCLUSION The action of the Indian government to eradicate the four social problems- black money, corruption, counterfeiting and terrorist funding was a very bold move but it definitely affected the many parts of the economy and in particular the agriculture. Among the farmers, small farmers were worst hit by this big bang experiment while in grain markets wholesalers and in fruits and vegetable markets retailers were most affected categories.
