4 DCSD Demographics An English Learner (EL) is a student whose primary home language is other than English who receives ESOL services. Total EL Students in DCSD- 11,110 Primary Home Language Other Than English (PHOLTE) is a student whose primary home language is other than English. Total PHLOTE Students in DCSD- 24,240 11% of DCSD PG “DCSD Demographics” DCSD serves nearly 101,00 students. 24% of our students have a primary home language other than English and 11% receive ESOL services. 24% of DCSD

Italian Mandarin is referred to as Standard Chinese or simplified Chinese, the most common form of Chinese spoken by 960 million people in China ( Please note: there are 100s of languages spoken by people from Myanmar, but Burmese is the official language spoken by 2-3 of the population. W-APT CPL 1.0 – 1.9: Intensive English W-APT CPL 2.0 – 4.9: ESOL Services W-APT CPL ≥ 5.0: NO ESOL Services LAB Program 13-20yr w/ ≤ 6yrs of education 7th Grade LAB W-RAT Score ≤ 3.0 8th Grade LAB EL services are determined by the W-APT- WIDA ACCESS Placement Test CPL-Composite Proficiency Level LAB program is for our SLIFE (Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education). Our district has the largest Refugee population in the South Eastern part of the US due to having 5 resettlement agencies in our district.
