The Direct Object A direct object is the person or thing receiving the action of the verb. Exemple: Sophie achete le livre.

Direct object pronouns are used to replace direct objects to avoid repetition.
Here are the direct object pronouns: me me nous us te you(singular, informal) vous you(formal, plural) le/la him/her/it les them

Placement Direct object pronouns come before the conjugated verb unless there is an infinitive. Then, they come before the infinitive. Exemple: Vous allez regarder le film? Oui, nous allons le regarder. Sophie vous invite chez elle. Elle nous invite chez elle?

Me, te, le, la change to m’, t’ and l’ before a vowel
*Me, te, le, la change to m’, t’ and l’ before a vowel. Exemple: Pierrot t’envoie une carte d’anniversaire.
