PACS ICC Meeting #41 PACS Photometer
Open calibration and software issues until end-of-He Markus Nielbock (MPIA Heidelberg) Markus Nielbock (MPIA) – PACS-P open issues until end-of-He ESAC, 7th November 2012

PACS Photometer – Open issues until end-of-He Calibration
Most open calibration issues to be addressed during POPS Update of prime standard models Correction for temperature/emissivity/straylight/drift effects Tuning of flux calibration to chopped observations Pointing jitter correction → improvement of PSF shape / EEF Consolidation of current flux calibration (stability, SSO models) FPG update – further observations needed? → final assessment not possible without pointing jitter correction Investigate impact of even-odd scan leg issue on PSF width Progress on extended emission issues Markus Nielbock (MPIA) – PACS-P open issues until end-of-He

PACS Photometer – Open issues until end-of-He Software
Slicing of scan map data: To be removed from SPG Remove Level 0.5 step (also avoids duplication of task execution) Offer optional slicing for IA processing (to be documented) → improves performance if processing is parallelised (IPAC) Error maps: photCoverage2Noise - not directly applicable to Parallel Mode observations Mad Map Optimisation of preprocessing for Mad Map Combination of more than only two OBSIDs for L2.5 → improved S/N feeds back into better HPF masks for L1 → L2 processing Consistent transition from “2nd order deglitching” to “MapDeglitch” (mapindex) Progress on robust point source extraction and PSF fitting / photometry Clean-up of (ipipe) scripts Is the implementation of a Scanamorphos-like processing in HIPE still realistic? → How much FTEs will be available for developing/maintaining PACS-P code? Markus Nielbock (MPIA) – PACS-P open issues until end-of-He
