Description: This webquest will enable students to investigate and create an electronic document for at least three careers in the criminal justice field of study by utilizing the internet for additional information relating to their different career preferences. Introduction There are so many choices when it comes to planning your future. As you can see from the picture on this page, forensics provides one with many job choices. Get ready to explore, investigate, and most of all enjoy working on this assignment. You are the architect of your production.

Tasks Students, your mission is to select three careers in the criminal justice occupational field and prepare an electronic document describing in detail each profession. The good news is, you may select a partner to explore, master, and complete the project. This webquest was designed to provide you with information pertaining to the profession of a forensic pathologist. There are numerous forensic science jobs that incorporate medical disciplines. Within all levels of forensics, there exist many career tracks for students with a medical background. Medical professionals work hand-in-hand with forensic personnel in courts, crime scenes, and laboratory settings.

Research information that should be included pertaining to your specific career choices.
For example: 1) What is the average pay for this job? 2) What kind and how much education do you need for this career? 3) What are the duties associated with this career? 4) Are there any job openings for this career, what is the outlook? 5) What abilities and personality traits will you need for this career? 6) What are the working conditions (inside, outside, lifting or not, hours, etc?) 7) Would you be suited to this job and consider it as a career possibility?

Process You have explored various careers. Now, it is time to find three careers that most interest to you and your partner and continue the research into the area. You will need to develop a presentation to deliver to your instructors and classmates. This will be the assessment of your knowledge of the careers you chose. You are only limited by your own creativity and motivation. Take the challenge, apply yourself! You may develop powerpoint or other approved electronic productions to deliver a thorough description of each chosen career.

1) A description of the work the person performs 2) Wage/salary (entry level and after further advancement in career) 3) What personality traits are required for a particular career 4) Educational background demanded 5) What institutions can you attend for training 6) Advantages and disadvantages of the career 7) Career ladder ( How does one advance from a beginning position to a more advanced level in the distinct job?) 8) Employment outlook 9) Related occupations

Evaluation Career Explorations Portfolio
You will create a powerpoint or other approved electronic document for each job. All your work must be original (in your own words). Any information you use from an outside source must be properly documented and credited. Research the following: 1) Job description (minimum 100 words)-site sources(s) where information came from (10 pts.) 2) Roles and responsibilities (minimum 5 items) (5 pts.) 3) Essential knowledge and skills (5 pts.) 4) Programs or paths of study available to reach occupational goals starting with high school courses to take, internships, experience needed, tests, etc. (5 pts.) 5) Personality traits (5 pts.) 6) Credentialing and licensure (5 pts.) 7) Non-educational requirements (5 pts.) 8) Digital photos, videos, etc. (10 pts.)
