Average GPA of Accepted Applicants Speech & Hearing Science: Nursing: 3.4 – 3.7 (varies by semester) Health Services Management: 3.6

4 Most Competitive Majors Based on Audition/Portfolio
Art (including Art Education) Dance (including Dance Education) Interior Design Music (including Music Education) Theatre (Professional Actor Training and Musical Theatre)

5 Most Competitive Majors Based on Pre-Requisites
Majors requiring multiple math and/or science courses with a minimum grade Engineering (*8) Clinical Laboratory Science (9) Exercise Physiology (9) Nutrition Science – Didactic Option (8) Nursing (7) Athletic Training (5) Public Health Studies : Pre-Health Concentration (5)

8 Preparing Students For Professional Programs
Most professional programs require students to earn a Bachelor’s degree first Pharmacy is the main exception Some dental, medical, and optometry programs will accept exceptional students after 3 years Students can major in anything to prepare! There is no “pre-med” or “pre-law” major There are courses (prerequisites) students must take to be eligible for admission to professional programs Encourage them to choose a major they will enjoy, perform well in, and that will provide them with a satisfying career as an alternate option.
