Find the word subcontinent on page 219. Break the word into two familiar parts, and write the meaning of each part. Use what you know about the meaning of each word part to write a definition for the word. sub + continent = subcontinent something less or smaller large land mass a large part of a continent but not the entire land mass

Subcontinent A large land area that is topographically separate but still a part of the larger continent topographic map: A map type showing a limited set of features but including at the minimum information about elevations or landforms. Examples: contour maps.
