Introduction Established in 1988, as a Scientific Society of the Ministry of Information Technology(formerly department of Electronics), Government of India CDAC is primarily an R & D institution involved in the design, development and deployment of Information Technology products and solutions. C-DAC’s expertise also extends to other areas of Information Technology (IT). It has undertaken pioneering work in the field of multilingual and multimedia technologies, education and training Digital library and Artificial Intelligence.

History India started a program to develop an indigenous supercomputer in collaboration with Russia. Supercomputers were considered a double edged weapon capable of assisting in the development of nuclear weapons. For the purpose of achieving self-sufficiency in the field, C-DAC was established by the Department of Electronics in 1988. Vijay Bhatkar was hired as the Director of C-DAC The final result of the effort was the PARAM 8000,which was installed in It is considered India's first supercomputer

a) Anvaya- It refers to the logical connection of words, as to how different words relate with each other to convey a significant meaning or idea. It is a software application consisting of interface to Bioinformatics tools and databases in a workflow environment, to execute the set of analysis tools in series or in parallel. b) CloudConnect - It is an easy to use web interface for connecting Cloud. CloudConnect abstracts creation of security group, management of network topology, creation of Virtual machine, automatic mounting of elastic block storage to virtual machine.

Work Environment C-DAC's focus on diversity in research and work creates a competitive advantage for their customers, employees, and company. Infrastructure And Facilities
C-DAC’s operations are spread over Pune, Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad as full fledged Centers, and cells at Chennai and Calcutta. C-DAC has established the National PARAM Supercomputing Facility (NPSF) in the Pune University campus to provide supercomputing facility to industries and research and academic institutes in India that need such a facility to process their diverse applications The PARAM has been installed at NPSF making this facility the largest supercomputing facility in India and one of the largest in Asia. A small 4-node configuration of PARAM has also been set up at C-DAC’s Centre at Bangalore

Contd.. Facilities like: Information Centre- well-equipped library covering a range of subjects including technical, managerial, Indian heritage and general interest. The library houses more than 6,500 books on a wide range of subjects. Canteen- C-DAC provides a regular and hygienic canteen facility to its members. Spread over an area of 5000 sq feet, at its Pune and Bangalore Centers. Facilitation - The facilitation cell of C-DAC ensures the smooth running of the organization by ensuring that facilities and infrastructure in the area of water, electricity, transport, travel, residential and guest house accommodation are maintained and are available at all times.

Conclusion C-DAC’s current mission is for the development of the Next Generation High Performance Computing & Communications (HPCC) technologies and applications, taking advantage of the developments carried out in its previous missions in this area.
