The US ELECTIONS Election Day
ON election Day, Americans vote, but they don't elect the president directly. They vote and the candidate who the gets a majority of votes in a state,wins the votes of the “electoral college”in this state. Indeed, each state has a certain number of “electoral votes”. California has 55 whereas Montana for instance has only 3. The election took place on November 4 th The candidates were Barack Obama and John Mc Cain. Obama got 365 electoral votes and Mc Cain got 173 .He won Califonia(55) and Florida(27) ... He also got much more popular votes than MC Cain. He got 52 % and McCain got 46%. Obama is the first Black President of the States. He is the forty-fourth President of the states. The first President of the states was Georges WASHINGTON. Émilie BOUVET Page 16
