More than 35 years ago I became involved in coaching wheelchair sports
More than 35 years ago I became involved in coaching wheelchair sports. As I watched the athletes competing in old heavy folding chairs, I knew I could build something better. I had a technical and mechanical background and I knew how to weld. I started Eagle Sportschairs in the basement of my house. Still located on my property in Snellville the factory has been under my sole ownership since day one. We are bigger and the technology has changed quite a bit over the years, but I still spend my days trying to build a better, faster sportschair. Served on the Dixie Wheelchair Sports Board of Directors for 20 years Worked with Blaze Sports helping to coach kids from 2000 to 2006 Coached National Wheelchair Basketball for AAASP from 2005 to 2010 Served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors from 1996 to 2004 for Wheelchair Track and Field USA Head Coach for the ParaPanAm Games in 1998 in Mexico City Attended Paralympic Games as Wheelchair Equipment Manager 2000 (Australia) 2008 (Beijing, China) Wheelchair Equipment Manager at the Rio, Brazil ParaPanAm Games in 2007 Certified Official in Field and Track
