5. EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT REPORT

HB 379 (P3) has passed through the House Committee and the Full House and was sent to the Senate Transportation Committee where it has unanimously passed and is now headed to the Full Senate.
HB 52 presented by Representative Patrick Connick went through the House Appropriations Committee instead of the House Transportation Committee. This Bill is intended to remove the Sunset Provisions on State Ferry Subsidies. We have concerns it will make it through the whole Legislative Session due to the impact it has on the Transportation Trust Fund. However, if it doesn’t, we will have to make another attempt during next year’s session. 

6. Developer’s Day – May 31, 2017 West Bank Ferry Terminal
On May 12, 2017 we incurred a lightning strike to St. Charles Streetcar catenary system that required emergency repairs. Staff worked diligently during inclement weather to make the necessary repairs. The redundancy (substations) that are built into the system worked as designed thereby preventing any downtime in streetcar operations.
