The Fall of Rome Rome was invaded by many Germanic tribes
The fall of Rome caused many changes: Europe was no longer united under one ruler Cities started to loss people and money People stopped learning The Fall of Rome

Lack of Unity Roman Empire was destroyed Invaders killed many people
Each Germanic tribe had its own leader So what? This led to the loss of: Education Safety Economy --> trade

Decline of Cities Why did cities decline? There were no jobs
Food wasn't being traded Cities aren't safe from invasions and violence Results: People started moving to the countryside (farm lands) People start to spread out Harder for cultural diffusion to happen

Invaders threatened safety People invented a new type of government: FEUDALISM Feudalism: Kings give land to the wealthy and the wealthy train soldiers to help create an army for the king Politics

King owns land and gives small sections to wealthy nobles
This land is called a fief Wealthy nobles decide what to do with that land Wealthy nobles MUST obey the king and give him soldiers for an army These nobles are called lords Feudalism in Action!
