What’s running at your airports now
One of Amadeus’ core strengths is that we have a proven track record of providing centrally hosted, operationally critical systems that are used by a large number of customers.
We took that experience, leveraged the cloud and application virtualization and have provided a next generation, scalable common use service - ACUS.
The ACUS service uses Application Virtualisation to provide a single, common platform to provide Passenger Processing Services to all airports.
Let’s now look at the individual components of the service in detail…

3. EASE V3.0
Adds support for remote virtual machines running on an ESXi host.
Still supports local images on the workstations for mixed mode operation.
vEPM still in use on the workstations.
EASE Serial Concentrator for airline data, supports VMotion
Carrier device state tracking
Real time stock and gate scanner usage tracking.

4. EASE V3.0 New server GUI New broker Reduce interconnect complexity.
Multiple brokers can be linked together.
Workstations can connect to any broker.
Linked brokers can service requests for a down broker; for brokers using the same data source.
2.5 and 3.0 use the same translators.

12. EASE V5.0 Floating Carrier Images
Allows airline virtual desktops to be shared across multiple instances of EASE
Allows airports to have separate EASE instances per terminal or concourse

13. EASE V5.0 Workgroup Inactivity
Monitors all workstations within a particular workgroup (i.e. Ticket Counter, Gate) for inactivity and will remotely end the sessions on all workstations
Both user input and device inactivity is used in this determination

14. EASE V5.0 Customizable Error Messages
Allows administrators to change verbiage on error messages to better fit their own environments.

15. EASE V5.0 Enhanced Logging Uses Apache’s Log4J logging framework
Fixes the file size issue – Uses a marker filter
Allows you to accept or deny specific events such has heartbeats

16. EASE V5.0 Printer Director
Allows airlines to natively print documents that include:
Graphics
IP Based Printers
Larger file sizes
Based on a standard nftables Linux FW implementation

17. EASE V5.0 Integration with ACUS
EASE has an ACUSPMSocket to talk to 1A-PM directly
On carrier login, EASE checks to see if carrier uses ACUS
If carrier uses ACUS, EASE talk to 1A-PM directly instead of to the physical devices
Configured with a property file and can communicate to local instance of 1A-PM or a remote instance
