3. Worm Gear Resembles a screw
Can achieve a high torque, low gear speed ratio
Can have 1 tooth (one band along entire gear)
Mesh w/ spur or helical

4. Crown Gear Also called a “contrate gear”
Teeth project at right angles from face
Type of bevel gear
Can mesh with other bevel or sometimes spur gears

5. Rotary to Linear Motion
Objective is to make a rotating motor cause a platform or a rod to move laterally
Can be achieved with a crown gear, a spur gear, and a worm gear
