13. Dear State Employees… Turn off office lights at the end of the day or in rooms not in use. Ensure work computers and monitors use built-in energy efficiency settings. Where possible, hold meetings via conference call or video conference, rather than travel to meet in-person. When using state vehicles, obey the speed limit and do not idle engines unnecessarily. Use public transit when possible. Reduce office waste by not making unnecessary copies or printing email, and recycle used paper and other consumables.

Herbert's recently announced clean air initiative, Utah Clean Air Partnership, or U-CAIR, the State of Utah is replacing 73 of its fleet vehicles with fuel-efficient hybrids this year.
