Test stand preparation and EMR "live" data summaries

ESS Stakeholders WP04/5 Projects Superconducting RF Section
Cover the construction, testing and installation phase of the cryomodule prototypes and the procurement, assembly, testing, and transport of series cryomodules. Superconducting RF Section The Section, and the future Group foreseen for the operations phase, is responsible for all SRF systems at ESS with their testing, installation, hardware commissioning and operation. Provide SRF team manpower and a sustainable ”ownership” of the SRF components during the facility future lifetime We handle requirements to other ESS groups/units
3
Sustainability Future operation/maintenance needs of the ESS facility require us to ”take full ownership” of all hardware Understand design criteria and intent Understand lifecycle from fabrication to operation Testing procedure Commissioning procedures Regular operation Plan for spares (and maintenance needs) Consolidate structures historical data from the delivery of the cavity IKC onwards
4
ESS as “greenfield” size
Do we know everything we need? Do we handle correctly: Handover between partners in known and “nominal” conditions (incoming/outgoing inspections)? Has something happened during transport? Will data be readily available at next actor for verification? What about calibration data to TS and to linac? How to use CM configuration as received from CEA to handle the pushing of all calibration data to the proper IOC in the ESS naming scheme both in TS and in LINAC …
5
My list of actions for preparation of TS2 SRF SAT operations
Collect Design Information Ensure that at ESS we capture design intent Document it at ESS Get ready to take over SRF activities (inspection/test) from you Provide Data Storage & Handling Set up a measurement repository (starting from cav IKC out) Have data available in “real time” during SAT Store the SAT data Configuration Management Take over CM configuration from CEA Link to Measurement and Calibration data (push to ICS) Use same configurations at TS2 (+FREIA) and Linac
6
Collect Design Information
Reverse the logic of “we will receive a manual” to “we will write our manual” We did not perform the design at ESS We will perform inspection, test and operation We are collecting and documenting design Information from you (reports/bibliography/ /verbal/…) Need to capture actual hardware in Linac Document it in CHESS This is easier for you, i.e. review vs compile You should confirm if our understanding is correct
7
Provide Data Storage & Handling
Preparing at ESS to receive & handle cavity SRF data VT test data Frequency/T measurements at handover See Cecilia contribution (we have to define them!) Set up simple scheme with ICS for the data File based, no format enforced (just documented) ESS collects and normalizes to proposed ICS format (HDF5) ESS provides data access tools Will extend to sensor calibration data (e.g. CERNOX)
8
Configuration Management
Prepare to receive and handle CM configuration Device composition from CEA Linked to data available in the Calibration and Measurement DB Capabilities to modify the configuration Tools to map devices to the naming scheme of the channels in the TS and Linac Automate all data pushing for the signal conditioners and channel properties, using a single configuration setup See Nuno contribution
