2 Making moral decisions
One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?“ "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: 'Love your neighbour as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." Mark 12 vs 28-30

4 Making moral decisions
Fundamentalist will use the Bible as base for moral decisions and will use it literally but liberals tend to interpret biblical teaching for today, using situationism as their base. Christians believed that Jesus was not bound by the laws of scripture which is why he clashed with Jewish authorities e.g. he would heal on a Sabbath. Jesus made moral judgements based on each individual situation and taught his followers to do the same. What do we mean by ‘situationism’?

5 Group work Making moral decisions
Each group has a set of moral dilemmas Decide as a group which of the actions you would take for each of the scenarios Which group is going to have the higher sense of moral obligation?
