Welcome from the PTA

Meet Mrs. Francis I was born and raised in Georgia and graduated from Berry College. I have an ESOL endorsement and am working on my TAG endorsement. This is my 6th year teaching in Fulton Co. My husband ,E.J., teaches Kindergarten and coaches high school baseball and softball. I have a dog named Simon. I love teaching at Shakerag! My address is:

Supported through text series but not in order Standards found at Common core app for phones

Advanced Strategies Lab:
Media Center and Advanced Strategies Lab: Monthly media center lesson Supplements classroom instruction through research, presentation, and technology Resources on Media Center Website ASL (Advanced Strategies Lab): Once a week lesson that encourages students to problem solve as a group through creative hands-on activities.

The Leader In Me The 7 Habits of Happy Kids
We are a leader in me school This drives a lot of our learning and procedures in the classroom. Many Leadership opportunities throughout the year.

F = 69 or below Grades are based on a variety of information Teacher Observation Class Participation Written Assessment Projects/Tests Grade Components: Summative 35% (Tests, performance assessments, projects) Quizzes: 30% (quizzes, home projects, oral presentations) Classwork: 25% Homework: 10% (Graded for completion, not accuracy) You will see your child’s performance through graded papers, nine week report cards, Fall and Spring progress checklists, and Home Access Center

Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT)
Please sign and return the green permission form sent home with your child. We will not start until all forms have been returned. You will receive an when classes are ready to begin. Students must adhere to the policies on the contract (no cell phones, only used for educational purposes on approved websites, no sharing). Devices are securely locked when not in use.

Agendas Agendas are brought home each day
Homework will be written in each day Please review this with your child Sign and return the agenda daily You may also use the agenda as a communication tool between home and school

Policies Homework Policy: Up to thirty minutes a night, 4 nights a week in addition to 20 minutes of reading which is written in reading log. Transportation Policy: Must have ALL changes in writing (no s or agenda notes accepted). Attendance: It is helpful when you me that your child will be absent or will be early/late due to an appointment. You also need to or send me a note when your child has been out sick.

Miscellaneous Snack time is around 9:05.
Send in one healthy snacks that are easy for your child to eat. Don’t forget to wear sneakers P.E. days

More Miscellaneous Information
Extras at lunch: cash or written note by parent for child to use lunch card to purchase “extras”. Birthdays are to be celebrated in accordance with the handout you received at Sneak Peek. Please do not pass out birthday invitations at school. Teachers can not give out contact information for students, but we encourage you to join the PTA so you have access to the online directory.

-Conferences- Conference forms (reports from each teacher) will be sent home with students in September. Sign up sheets will follow if you would like to request a conference with a specific teacher.
