Analyze poetry by discovering its elements and reading/annotating two poems.

Find a poem and song that are similar in theme. Please list the name of the song, and the name of the poem. Then write a paragraph that explains how they are similar.

Personification Giving non-human things human qualities “The waves clapped with a thunderous sound” Hyperbole Exaggeration “I’m starving” Rhyme Scheme The pattern of rhymes at the end of each line of a poem or song. “ABAB” or “AABB” Example Here Internal Rhyme a rhyme involving a word in the middle of a line and another at the end of the line or in the middle of the next. Example Here Stanza is a grouped set of lines within a poem End Rhyme when a poem has lines ending with words that sound the same
