Who is Malcolm X On May in Omaha, Nebraska, a homemaker named Louise Norton Little gave birth to her son Malcolm Little, also known as Malcolm X or el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz. He was a prominent black nationalist leader during the 1950s and '60s. He was an American Muslim minister and served as a spokesman for the Nation of Islam. He was also a human-rights activist.

Malcolm X’s Life In 1928, The Littles moved to Lansing, Michigan. They settled in a white neighbourhood and was sued for eviction. This was because a restrictive covenant prevents their home from being sold to any non-caucasians. In the same year, in the 7th of November specifically, their house was burned to the ground. There wasn't any fire wagon dispatched. Malcolm believes that it was caused by a local white supremacist.

Malcolm X’s Life About 3 years after the incident, In September 28, 1931, Earl Little was killed in a "street car accident". Malcolm later says that it was the Ku Klux Klan behind it. Louise Little, Malcolm's mother, was diagnosed with a mental illness in She was sent to Kalamazoo Mental Hospital. She will stay there for 26 years.

Malcolm X’s Life Malcolm's siblings were placed in different foster families. Malcolm was sent to a juvenile home in Mason, Michigan. He wanted to become a lawyer. He got straight A's and was even elected president of his 8th grade class. But his teacher tried to discourage him of pursuing that goal. Facing injustice and racism as a child, to the point where he believes his father died, and their house was burned down because of it. His philosophy was shaped in a way were he wanted an end to white prejudice and violence against black people.
