Assessment of clinical practice Helps to facilitate the application of theoretical knowledge with clinical practice Core curriculum recommends all new vaccinators spend time with a competent practitioner who has attended training and is experienced at giving and advising on immunisations. An assessment of clinical competence should take place HPA (2005) Assessment of clinical practice should involve observation of the new vaccinator during a minimum number of vaccinations or clinic sessions Once the on-line course is completed by an individual then an experienced immuniser will need to be identified to work through a clinical competency assessment.
