Understand your student’s new schedule Consider how you can adapt norms/rules Stay involved Follow social media Provide a Quiet Study Space 2 hours of study time/1 class hour (30 hrs/week) Stay Involved Learn about the campus, visit the website, & show support Enable student to be independent & seek on-campus resources Understand Your Student’s New Schedule The library, labs and studios stay open late (after 10pm) Clubs may meet between 6-9 pm Help students balance their responsibilities & prioritize. Consider Adapting Current Household Rules Curfew, chores, meal expectations, family contributions, and visitors

On-campus jobs (work-study, LeopardWork) Finding a mentor (professor, advisor, coach etc.) Getting Involved Creating new friendships & relationships Making time for stress relief Joining or Creating Study Groups Facilitated Study Groups (The Learning Center) On-campus jobs (work-study) Ensures regular contact with other students & staff Finding an adult mentor (professor, advisor, coach etc.) Students connect to campus and feel included Getting Involved Involved students are more connected to campus, more likely to persist to graduation and have higher GPAs Leadership positions, club and organizational involvement, including professional organizations, will help their career by developing leadership skills and building a social network on campus.

MBTA Semester Pass payment due August 10th Wentworth Opening Week (WOW) August 31st – September 3rd First Day of Class September 5th Parking Passes on sale September 5th (Student Service Center or Lconnect.wit.edu) Locker Distribution September 5th (Info Hub) *WOW is part of their grade for FYS, and if they miss it, it’s really difficult to pass the class!
