Personal Writing Assignment: Watch one of the You Tube videos above we did not watch in class (Bishop Robert Barron on the Immaculate Conception or Dr. Scott Hahn on Mary, God’s Greatest Creation) & write a paragraph summary of what you learned. Watch both & write two paragraphs for extra credit! (5 HW Points/2 E.C. Points) Read The Emmaus Account in Lk. 24: & write down 5 reflections based off your reading of the story. How does this story provide proof that typology is a valid form of interpreting the Bible? Please take time to really think about the story & even pray & study it. Know person, importance, role, & even nature With Jesus, centrality in salvation history & implications for prayer relationship Jesus—Lk. 1: 31 Hebrew, also Joshua “God saves” Divine identity, mission, & response (Phil 2: 9-10) Christ Not a last name but a formal title used 400x in NT Greek translation of Messiah = “anointed one” Special mission & munera (priest, prophet, king) to accomplish OT typology through anointing with oil Peter’s recognition = special mission Article 17
