What’s new, Scooby doo? One of my Favourite Television programmes growing up was ‘What’s New, Scooby Doo?’ I was always a fan of the Scooby Doo franchise as I also enjoyed watching re-runs of the original Scooby Doo television series. My mother watched the original series when she was growing up so she always encouraged my brother and I to watch it, this made it a big part of my childhood. About the Show “What's New, Scooby-Doo? is the ninth incarnation of the Hanna-Barbera Saturday morning cartoon franchise Scooby-Doo. A revival of the original Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! after a decade-long gap in a new Scooby television show, it debuted in 2002.” - (date accessed – 17/01/15 1:15 pm) The show is about four teenagers; Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy along with the latter's faithful dog as well as the shows namesake; Scooby. Each episode the ‘Mystery Gang’ travel to different locations in their van, fittingly named the mystery machine and help solve the mysteries they come across in each location. Such as a person who has dressed up like a monster or ghost to terrorise a town, whom the teens must ‘unmask’. What’s New, Scooby – Doo maintains the same premise as its predecessors as well as retaining the shows original cast along with a whole host of new characters. However this instalment of the franchise was upgraded to suit a 21st century audience and be more relatable to the modern age.

Favourite Episode - Synopsis – date accessed 21/01/15
My Favourite episode of the entire series is titled "Homeward Hound“. During the episode the Mystery Gang must rescue and protect a group of prize whinny golden retriever puppies. I always liked the episode because I loved each of the puppies personality and I like the fact that the puppies, their mother and their owner became recurring characters in the show. It was the 7th episode in the 2nd season and aired on October 25, Synopsis: “After the gang votes on their destination they end up at the annual dog show courtesy of Scooby. There Shaggy runs into an old acquaintance Meadow and her dog, Milady Moonbeam. However, the gang then has an unpleasant run-in with a Cat Creature who seems bent on ruining the dog-show and stealing the puppies of former winner dog, Crissie. This episode marks the first appearance of the Secret Six puppies: Maize, Flax, Jingle, Knox, 14-Carat and Bling-Bling and their owner Mr. B.” – date accessed 21/01/15 - Synopsis – date accessed 21/01/15 - Clip from the episode – date accessed 21/01/15
