Vinca culture ~5000BC. Cuprite & Chalcopyrite Ancient copper mines discovered between Accidentally when open-cast mining for iron. Narrow shafts with Vinca pottery vessels in some. Fire setting, bone & wooden tools, stone hammers (grooved down middle like Cornish examples).

Bronze into Europe Tradition view: BUT….
Bronze brought to Europe by Mycenaean merchant fleets. Unetician culture traded bronze along the Danube. Believed Beaker people took Bronze to Britain then Ireland. BUT…. Tin Bronze perfected in Britain (90% Copper, 10% Tin). So not as straight forward as this!
