Can we agree that CMMW TG meetings held in Asia always convened as WG interims? [CWPAN Response]: Yes, CWPAN strongly supports that CMMW TG meetings held in Asia always convened as WG interims Recognizing that the CMMW project is a unique collaborative experiment the WG chair can grant , restore or maintain voting rights for CMMW TG members regardless of their attendance outside Asia. However, it would be more greatly appreciated if CMMW TG members could attend one plenary meeting per year. How many members of the future members of CMMW who reside in Asia would be able to do so? [CWPAN Response]: CWPAN is aware of the challenge to create a new class of voting right that is task group specific. CWPAN positively supports WG chair’s approach to grant, restore or maintain voting rights for CMMW TG members (mainly from CWPAN members) regardless of their attendance outside Asia for this collaborative experiment. CWPAN will also encourage more CWPAN members to attend CMMW TG plenary meeting outside Asia.

4 Specifications – Questions
How much change to 11ad is required to meet the CWPAN PG4 60GHz requirements? When can obtain requirements statements from PG4? Understood that many are in Chinese and will need to be translated [CWPAN response]: CWPAN PG4 will provide 60GHz spectrum requirement in English in March meeting and other requirement statement in English asap How much change to 11 is required to meet the CWPAN SG GHz requirements? When will the GHz spectrum allocation rules be released? What did SG5 request from SRRC? Will 11ad be an acceptable baseline for CWPAN SG5? Mutual exchange of documentation between and CWPAN is needed IEEE participants need access to CWPAN SG5 application specifications CWPAN SG5 will present the update of GHz spectrum allocation request and channel measurement & model for GHz in March meeting CWPAN SG5 will provide application specifications? Please see Overview of CWPAN SG5 Q-LINKPAN

5 Questions & Replies Question about 2 channels vs 3 channels, is there documentation on benefits? Will provide a presentation Might china regulations in 60 GHz expand spectrum? Will not consider at this point of time; Will CMMW & 11ad devices coexist? Yes when operating in 60Ghz frequency band Will they start on wide or narrow channels? This is detailed technical question, need further consideration. How similar will 40 GHz design be to 11ad? Depends Will the QLINKPAN project stop if CMMW continues? No, Q-LINKPAN will continue Are there other countries that would allow GHz operation? Don’t know. USA may allow Can CMMW get access to Q-LINKPAN technical specs or documentation? Need to work out the way to exchange the information Regarding regulatory rules, would GHz be available only to Q-LINKPAN or to any system? Any system How much of GHz will be licensed versus unlicensed? Unlicensed: ~46.918GHz=3.584GHz Licensed: 40.5~43.334GHz=2.834GHz, ~50.2GHz=2.912GHz Can get CWPAN’s GHz request to China regulators?

6 Meetings – Questions January 2012
We have confirmed that CMMW TG meetings will be organized through CESI [CWPAN response]: CESI will be responsible for the CMMW TG meeting in China and ensure the service is on IEEE802 conference quality (including the payment of registration fee by credit card and the Wi-Fi service during the meeting and more); What is the best scheduling arrangement to optimize the quantity and quality of participation and technical exchanges Essentially all of current CWPAN PG4/SG5 members will participate in CMMW TG activities CMMW TG meetings will be co-located with plenary meetings CMMW TG interim meetings will be held independently in Asia The meeting schedule for interims and 802 plenaries are scheduled through 2014 CMMW TG meetings will not be scheduled to overlap with scheduled WG meetings If there is an interim meeting in Asia, the CMMW TG will be co-located The three Asian CMMW TG interim meetings will be scheduled for 2 days ( 12 months in advance) If the CMMW TG interim meeting follows the interim would you prefer the CMMW TG interim meetings be held Mon-Tues or Thur-Fri? CWPAN meetings will be co-located [CWPAN]: CMMW TG on Wed-Thur, CWPAN on Mon, Tues, Friday. The schedule is in the next slide interim meetings announced at least 45 days in advance do not require a quorum for voting
