Different types of J-aggregates using the same cyanine dye on AgBr surfaces and some of their properties Experiments were done in LB-layers with different structures using pseudo-isocyanine Summary of results: see also spectra below Important: J2 aggregate has larger wavelength shift from monomer and smaller FWHM. Both types of J-aggregates show near-resonance fluorescence. By adsorption on AgBr (111) monocrystals, J2 aggregates form. J2 shows higher spectral sensitivity on AgBr (111) monocrystals with LB-layers, due to higher cooperativity which is due to increased pi-interaction in brickstone structure. This is in agreement with our later observations with J-aggregates in mesopores used for FRET using quantum dot acceptors for lighting, sensing and displays.
