Some Misunderstand the Role of the Old Testament
Hold some O.T. teachings such as tithing Defend instruments of music in worship Defend divorce by O.T. teachings Teach Sabbath day worship Some teach that Saturday is the day of worship Others refer to Sunday as “the Christian Sabbath” Both ideas are wrong

If Any of the O.T. is Binding, All is!
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. (James 2:10) For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. (Rom. 15:4)

Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20:3)
But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils. (1 Corinthians 10:20-21)

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image. (Exodus 20:4)
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Cor. 6:9, 10)

Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. (Exodus 20:7)

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. (Exodus 20:8)
Sabbath worship is not found in the N.T. Let no man judge you concerning Sabbath days…they are a shadow of things to come. (Col. 2:16, 17) Early Christians worshipped on the first day of the week. Acts 20:7 This is the Lord’s day (Rev. 1:10) This commandment is NOT for Christians!

Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long
Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long... (Exodus 20:12) Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. (Ephesians 6:2, 3)

The following commandments…
Thou shalt not kill (Ex. 20:13) Thou shalt not commit adultery (Ex. 20:14) Thou shalt not steal. (Ex. 20:15) Thou shalt not bear false witness (Ex. 20:16) Thou shalt not covet (Ex. 20:17)

Are all repeated in Romans 13:9
For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Are Christians today under the Ten Commandments?
No! We have a better covenant with God! Hebrews 8:6-10

Are Christians today under the Ten Commandments?
Nine of the Ten Commandments are given again in the New Testament. The exception: The Sabbath Day was given to a particular people for a limited time in the Old Covenant.
