This pupil drew a Solidworks drawing and an isometric drawing by hand
This pupil drew a Solidworks drawing and an isometric drawing by hand. She could have just put the cutting list and notes on the CAD drawing. These drawings, notes and cutting list enables third party manufacture, which is how this sheet is assessed. That means that another person can make your product accurately using the information that you have provided.

Draw a table with the following headings
16 Planning: Draw a table with the following headings Op. No. Process Equipment Material Quality Safety Time (mins) 1 Complete all Techsoft CAD drawings Techsoft / Computer Use grid lock 120 2 Cut front and back panels Laser cutter 5mm laser ply Focus laser. Select correct power and speed Cabinet closed 5 3 etc Turn aluminium rods Centre Lathe 15mm diameter aluminium rod Ensure all rods are tolerance mm PPE , hair tied back Fill out the table for the main MAKING processes for your product. Aim for 10 – 12 rows only. Name: Form:

18 Evidence of Manufacturing: One or two pages with photographic evidence of the main MAKING tasks that you completed. Use notes under each photograph to explain; What tools / processes you are using What quality issues there are that you are following Any health and Safety issues. Name: Form:

19 Testing & Target Market Feedback: Show your product to your target market / client. Record their comments. What do they like about the product? What could be improved? Aim to have two/three points that you can then use as recommendations for improving the design Test the product. Use photographic evidence. Actually show it being used. Show that is meets the design brief and explain how it meets it. You must have PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE that this has happened. Name: Form:

20 Evaluation against the Specification and Improvements: Use your specification document and copy out each one. Under each specification, explain whether each point has been met / not met (most of them should have been) Write a sentence to justify how you know. Specification 5. The ipod dock must project sound up to 5 metres away so that it can be heard in my bedroom. Yes. I stood at the far side of my bedroom and I could clearly hear the songs being played. Name: Form:

Large Scale Manufacturing
Explain what changes you would make (if any) to your design in order to make your product in a large batch. You should probably use the following keywords and diagrams: Templates Jigs CAD CAM Buying materials and components in bulk to reduce cost. If you have used the laser cutter / router / 3d printer etc, then you can state that these machines can produces batches of identical products. Explain the advantages of CAM that we have learnt.
