8. Transverse fracture Fracture travels across the bone.
Common In blunt trauma i.e., RTA, fall etc

9. Fissure / linear fracture
Cracks or fissure lines will occur when direct trauma is applied to any long or flat bone. Generally the fissures are formed in one cortex of the bone and are covered by an intact periosteum.

10. Comminuted fracture
The fracture has more than two parts, multiple fragments are present.

11. OBLIQUE FRACTURE
An oblique fracture occurs at an angle other than right angle to the axis of bone.
Bending, with superimposed compression.
Tends to occur in longer bones. *diagonal*

12. Spiral / torsion fractures
These fractures are typically caused by a twisting force and result in spiral type of fracture.
Occur when one end of an extremity is fixed (e.g., a foot is planted on the floor) but the rest of the extremity remains in motion.

14. Greenstick fracture
In young children, the bones are not yet solid and when force is applied, it tends to bow and not break completely through. The term comes from a similar situation when trying to break a young branch off a tree.

15. AVULSION FRACTURE
A small chunk of bone attached to a tendon or ligament gets pulled away from the main part of the bone.

A buckled fracture, also known as an impacted fracture, is one whose ends are driven into each other.
