7. LEARNING OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM
The facilities in the sports camp were just what we needed to encourage team bonding. Loutraki
Sports Camp went over and above to help us (even going as far as washing and drying our
clothes when we were caught in a downpour.) PE Teacher, Mrs Head, Rydal Penrhos

Located an hour outside Athens, SportCamp lies
5km away from the birthplace of the Olympic
Games: Loutraki. Catering for 800 Athletes in
sports specific lodges, guests benefit from a full
board meal arrangement and numerous onsite
facilities.
It has been an international centre of
excellence for Arsenal FC and currently is
the European hub for the American TNBA.
The National Basketball Academy, based in
Sportscamp Loutraki provides training
camps and USA basketball scholarships on
behalf of NBA teams.

SAMPLE ITINERARY
Day 1:
Meet at Cambourne Village College Circa 01:00
ahead of departure to London Gatwick Airport.
Upon arrival, you will check in, clear security and
relax in departures ahead of your 05:45 flight to
Athens.

At 11:20 you will arrive in Athens and be greeted on
arrival by your private
coach that will transfer you to Sport Camp in Loutraki. On arrival, the group will check in to their rooms and have some free time to use the facilities available to them. You will then have your evening meal, before a team meeting to discuss the plan for the week, and activities this evening.
SPORTCAMP

Day 2:
Breakfast will be served at SportCamp, followed by a
morning of football and netball training. You will then
be served lunch, and spend the afternoon playing
football and netball fixtures against local opposition.
You will then have your evening meal which will be
followed by free use of the facilities at SportCamp or
relax for the evening. .

You will be served breakfast before departing early
morning to Athens for the day with your packed
lunch. As part of the day you will head to the
historical Panathenaic Stadium, Acropolis and have
time to shop at a local mall. Return to SportCamp for
your evening meal and an evening of free time. :

Day 4:
Breakfast, lunch and dinner served around your
daily activities. Utilise the Sportcamp’s
facilities to play multi sports. This evening
will be spent Swimming.

lunch. You will then depart for Loutraki town centre and head to Herion
Lake. Evening meal at SportCamp. :

Depart SportCamp at 03:00 for Athens
Airport for 06:30h flight. Arrive at
Stansted 08:30. End of arrangements.

13. Team structures for the tour
We will look at having :
2 football teams
Year 7 team
Year 8+9 team
1 mixed age Netball team

14. Proposed transfer
To ensure we have kept costs down we have the coach transfer from CamVc to Gatwick, however we have decided for the return that we would like parents to collect from Gatwick.
To make this as economical as possible, some of you may opt into sharing with others to collect.
Or you may wish to meet your child in arrivals, celebrating their mini Olympics experience.

Spending money – will be requested after summer at the moment we would be thinking approx. 60 euros for the week.

Tour top – Sizes before Summer - its going to be warm so we would like each of the pupils to have a short sleeve tour top that they can also use in their PE lessons.

Rooming – we will sort this out in September, rooms are 3+ in size and we will accommodate the best combinations for the pupils where possible
