4 Department of ECE Facts & Figures
The College Degrees With The Highest Starting Salaries in 2016 College graduates in the class of 2016 with bachelor’s degree in computer engineering can expect an average starting salary of $63,300. Next come electrical engineering graduates with starting salaries of $61,200. Forbes Oct 2015 Two majors: Electrical Engineering (ELEN) and Computer Engineering (CEEN) Average starting salary for Aggie ECE undergrads: $68,000 (TAMU Career Center, 2016) TAMU ECE undergraduate ranks 8th and the graduate department ranks 13th among U.S. public institutions (US News & World Report, 2016) Departmental scholarships awarded annually Fast Track allows undergrads to take 6 hours toward TAMU ECE graduate program Undergraduate ECEs meeting certain criteria can earn automatic admission into our graduate programs Undergraduate research ENCOURAGED 16:1 student to instructor ratio in most ECEN labs 1,000+ undergraduates, 760 grad students, 70+ faculty

5 Engineering Honors Program – ECE Track
21 honors credits (at least one course per year) Six hours of research (ECEN 491) Participation in the Undergraduate Research Scholars Program Completion of Honors thesis Minimum overall GPA of 3.5 (3.25 minimum term GPA in the final semester) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 (in honors coursework) No grade below C on transcript (no grade below B in honors courses) Two honors activities per semester One meeting with honors coordinator per semester Requirements Honors faculty mentors – More interaction with faculty Honors activities – Seminars, meetings, career development Undergraduate research – Preparation for grad school Honors designation on transcript University honors & Fast track integration Priority registration Benefits
