2
Legislation framework connected with waste oil management in the Republic of Macedonia
Law on Waste Management (O.J. of the Republic of Macedonia, No. 68/04, 71/04) The Law on Waste Management defines waste oils as follows: any mineral, synthetic or industrial oils in liquid or semi-liquid state that have become unfit for the use they had been originally intended, and in particular used oils for internal combustion engines, oils for gearbox, as well as oils for turbines and hydraulic oils

Legislation framework connected with waste oil management in the Republic of Macedonia
Law on Waste Management (O.J. of the Republic of Macedonia, No. 68/04, 71/04) Article 68 of the Framework Law on Waste Management is dedicated to the handling of waste oils: It prohibits discharging waste oils in soil, water, containers for municipal waste, sewerage and other infrastructural systems and facilities, as well as storage and disposal of the waste oils at locations not intended for that purpose.

Legislation framework connected with waste oil management in the Republic of Macedonia
Law on Waste Management (O.J. of the Republic of Macedonia, No. 68/04, 71/04) Article 68 of the Framework Law on Waste Management is dedicated to the handling of waste oils: It prohibits mixing waste oils with non-hazardous and hazardous waste, especially mixing waste oils with PCB/PCTs during their collection, transportation, storage, processing and disposal.

Legislation framework connected with waste oil management in the Republic of Macedonia
Law on Waste Management (O.J. of the Republic of Macedonia, No. 68/04, 71/04) Article 68 of the Framework Law on Waste Management is dedicated to the handling of waste oils: The Minister of environment prescribes the procedures and manner of collection, transportation, processing, storage and disposal of waste oils, the manner of keeping records and submission of data.

Legislation framework connected with waste oil management in the Republic of Macedonia
Law on Waste Management (O.J. of the Republic of Macedonia, No. 68/04, 71/04) Article 69 of the Framework Law on Waste Management is dedicated to the handling of PCB/PCT: It prohibits production, import and trade in PCB/PCT, re-use and recycling of used PCB/PCT, recharge and top up equipment with PCB/PCT; obliges legal entities handling of PCBs to register the quantities, origin, nature and content of PCBs, label the equipment that contains or had contained PCBs, and keep records.
7
Legislation framework connected with waste oil management in the Republic of Macedonia
Subsidiaries to the Law on Waste Management (in connection with waste oils issue): Regulation on management and disposal of waste oils, in the phase of preparation, Regulation on disposal of PCBs/PCTs, in the phase of preparation.
8
National strategies, action plans:
National Waste Management Plan (in the final phase of preparation) According to the obtained unofficial data there is no system for collection and processing of used engine oils and components in the Republic of Macedonia. The majority of waste oils and oil emulsion generated in the enterprises and other activities are currently burnt.
9
National strategies, action plans:
National Waste Management Plan and NEAP 2 (both in the final phase of preparation) There is no official inventory on imported oil quantities, but some sources (preliminary) say that imported quantities in the period from 2000 to 2002 were as follows: tons in 2000, tons in 2001, tons in 2002, or an average of around tons/year for the investigated three year period .
10
National strategies, action plans:
National Waste Management Plan and NEAP 2 (both in the final phase of preparation) There is no official inventory on waste oil generation in the country, but there is an unofficial preliminary data saying that approximately 4000 tones waste oils are generated in the country according to the following ratio: metallurgy (39,4% ), transport (19,1), energy sector (18,8%) and construction (7,8%) .
