What is School Download Library?
Download audiobooks and eBooks directly from your school's SDL website to a student's personal computer. Students may check out and download titles using their school library card. Titles are available 24/7 … anytime, anywhere! Your collection includes … Hundreds of curriculum-based and recreational titles. Accessibility features for the visually impaired. A credit for MARC records. School selection teams may purchase additional titles through 'Marketplace'. Real-time reports track circulation online.

What is an Audiobook? What is an eBook?
An audiobook is: A recorded reading of a book that can be downloaded and enjoyed on a computer or portable device. An eBook is: A digital book, magazine, or graphic novel that can be downloaded and read on a computer or portable device.

Core Collection Includes …
740 'Always Available' titles. Unlimited, simultaneous downloads. Includes multiple formats for some titles. Holds are never necessary. 101 'Popular' titles. One copy - one user license. Number of copies based on size of school / consortium. Students may request a checked out title by placing a hold. 26 'Always Available' MP3 titles.

Getting Started To download digital titles, a student will need:
A personal computer. A valid student library card. Free digital media software. Access to the Internet. Internet access is needed to browse, check out, and download titles. After download, enjoy a digital title without being connected to the Internet.

What are Digital Rights?
Every digital title has digital rights – or permissions – set by the publisher. Students can view the digital rights for any title by clicking on the title cover. These permissions describe what a student can do with the title after download. For example: Burn to CD. Transfer to a portable device. Adobe eBooks: Copy / print. Mobipocket eBooks: Register up to three computers / devices. All copies of an expired title must be deleted / destroyed.

Privacy Protection for Students
The first time a student places a hold they will be prompted to enter their DOB. Students under age 13 will be required to enter their parent / guardian's address. An is then sent to the parent / guardian. The parent / guardian may opt to have the student's address removed. In this case, the student will not be able to place further holds until the age of 13. If the parent / guardian never replies, the student will receive an when the title is available for check out. For more information:

Browse Click on a title image to view the details.
Next, add selections to the Bookbag. If a title is not available, place a hold and receive an when the title is ready for checkout. Search for a specific title using the Quick Search or Advanced Search. titles include supplemental material. Click on the 'Enhanced' starburst next to a title to learn more.

Check Out After selecting titles, click on the 'Proceed to Checkout' link. Enter school library card number, without spaces. After the card is verified, titles are ready for download.

Download The Download Page features a link to download the free digital media software. Click on the 'Download' button to begin downloading the title. Download checked out titles at a later time by clicking on 'My Account'.

How many titles will fit?

Adobe Authorization A user will be prompted to authorize their computer the first time Adobe Digital Editions opens. Select 'Authorize Computer'. This option allows you to download to multiple computers and transfer to devices. Click the link 'Get an Adobe ID', and follow the instructions to create an Adobe account. You just need an address. Return to the Authorize screen, and enter the address and password for your Adobe account. Click 'Activate'.

Mobipocket Registration
Before you check out a Mobipocket title, be sure to register a Device PID. Copy the device PID from Mobipocket Reader: Reading Devices > Edit Properties > Copy Device PID. Paste the device PID into your School Download Library account: School Download Library > My Account > My Mobipocket PIDs.
