List three characteristics that you possess.

7 Adjetivos *An adjective is a word used to describe a Noun. *In Spanish adjectives have to agree with the gender and number of the noun. Number Gender More than one Male Female One

8 How to agree in gender and number
*In English the adjective does not have to match the noun it “modifies”. Lets use the adjective “tall”. In English: She is tall. They are tall. The adjective tall does not change to “TALLS” because there is more than one girl Same goes for a boy or a groups of boys. You do not say “They are TALLS”

9 *Modifying the adjective to match the noun.
Lets take the same example: lets use the adjective “alto” *To make an adjective feminine all you need to do is change the “o” to an “a”. Notice that the word ends in and “a”. alta This is because the adjectives that describe a feminine noun have to change in gender. This adjective now matches the nouns gender. They are both feminine.

10 But what if it were two or more girls.
Now we need to make sure that the adjectives agree in numbers as well. alta This is not correct, why? altas *To make an adjective plural in Spanish you must add “s” or an “es”.

11 *Spanish is a gender based language
*All adjectives in Spanish are in the male singular form. *This means that in most cases they will end in “o”.
