Constitution Day
We are not folding today.
Head the paper.
Title your paper “Constitution Day”.
Number your paper from one to nine, skipping two spaces between each number.

identify the Preamble as the mission statement of the U.S.

3. Preamble Writing
On your paper, you will need to write the nine lines of the Preamble of the U.S. Constitution. You should have numbered your paper from 1 to 9, skipping two spaces between each number. You will need that space later! I will read and reread the Preamble. It will also be on the board. You must write the Preamble on your paper. When you are done writing, read the Preamble out loud until everyone is reciting it.

Prompt: The Preamble to the United States Constitution states that our country will “establish justice”, “provide for the common defense”, and “promote the general welfare”. Explain what each of these promises means and give one example of how our country meets one of these promises today.
