Crane - lever, gear or pulley?

2
The question? The problem I am trying to solve :
What type of building device is a Crane? Is it a: Gear Pulley Lever? Let me explain what each of these are.
3
Levers Levers have a handle and the balance point.
The handle of the lever is called the "arm”. The arm is the part that you push or pull on. The "fulcrum" is the point on which the lever turns or balances on
4
Gears Gears are used for transmitting power from one part of a machine to another. On a pedal bike, when you rotate the pedals the power transfers through the gears to the wheels.
5
Pulley Pulley is a collection of one or more wheels over which you loop a rope to make it easier to lift objects. An example is a water well. In the olden days, they attached a rope to a bucket and looped through a wheel (lever). They dropped the bucket down a well and used the rope to pull the bucket full of water up. The lever makes it easier to pull up the heavy bucket
6
Cranes Now that we know what Levers, Gears and Pulleys are.
Does a Crane use: Levers Gears Pulleys? Could a machine use one or more of the above?
7
Conclusion: Cranes use Gears and Pulleys!
Cranes use gears to extend the rope and pull it back. Cranes are also pulleys because rope is looped through a wheel to help lift heavy items Lets look at my homemade model
