Physics Thursday 11-8 Finish Lab Info gathering
Work on calculations, write-up Any old homework See Play
2
Finish Gathering information
With the rubber-band With the wood and paint stirrer
3
Finish Calculations Will want the calculations done in a neat sequential manner on a separate piece of paper All group members have the same calculations for the wood launch and the farthest rubber-band launch Each individual will have additional calculations on a 2nd rubber-band launch different from the rest of the group
4
Descriptions In addition to the calculations, write a concise description of the set-up for the most successful rubber-band shot. Write a paragraph indicating the most significant sources of error affecting the calculations. Be specific in your description. Don’t say “ measuring”, but indicate how error might have been introduced for specific measurements
5
Percent Error for angle
Wood-Paint stirrer part Indicate the % error difference between the calculated angle of launch and the initial angle of the paint stirrer │calculated angle – paint stirrer angle │ X 100 Paint stirrer angle
6
Mass values Measure the mass values of your marshmallow shot and the paper shot Visit each group and record their paper shot mass value and their farthest range value. Write a brief statement indicating if you believe there is any relationship between the mass of the shot and the range it travels. Explain your position.
7
What is due for the lab 1) The paper with all the information
2) Calculations for the wood/stirrer projectile 3) 2 sets of calculations for the rubber-band projectile Max range projectile 2nd individual projectile Description of how the group shot the rubber-band Detailed paragraph on sources of error Percent error calculation for wood/stirrer projectile
8
Any old homework? No homework today through weekend
