FACT: We determine eligibility by the population of the town where the library resides.

8. FACT: The foundation remains committed to its mission to serve public libraries in rural Texas.

9. . . . Tocker Foundation requires 2 vendor quotes on the application.

12. FACT: A grantee must complete one project by filing a final report before applying again. Exceptions?

20. FACT: We do not have preferred vendors and refer applicants to CTLS for guidance on selecting a reputable library vendor.

22. FACT: The library is the applicant and is responsible for conveying their vision to the foundation.

23. . . . Tocker doesn’t fund flooring.

24. FACT: Tocker does not fund flooring or related infrastructure items.

25. . . . I can redirect leftover grant money anyway I want.

26. FACT: Grantees may spend leftover funds ‘in the spirit of the grant’ with explicit permission from the foundation.

27. . . . I can stretch my grant dollars by making purchases online.

28. FACT: We recommend you use library vendors to make sure you purchase quality, durable products and books.

29. . . . if I request the cheapest items possible, it will improve my chances of getting a grant.

30. FACT: Spending less on critical items means you must replace more often. Purchase quality items that serve your needs.

31. . . . I can’t call the foundation office with my questions.

32. FACT: We encourage you to call and discuss your project as early as possible. We want all applicants to have a successful grant experience.

33. I can’t make changes to the project once the grant has been approved.

34. FACT: Always ask for permission when it comes to making changes your grant project.

35. . . . Tocker Foundation is the only funding source for libraries in Texas.
