2 Jump Cutting is.. an abrupt change from one shot, scene, or sequence to another, caused by the absence of transitional action, effects

3 Where is it from? George Méliès created the jump cut on accident, he then went on to use it to simulate magic tricks. The French, specifically Jean-Luc Godard , stimulated the contemporary use of the jump cut in the 1950s and 60s.
