1 Our Position on Global Warming
By: President Brice Witt and Vice President Matthew Nagelson

2 Global Warming Global warming is a natural cause, however humans are contributing a lot towards the increase in temperature of 1.53 degrees by releasing a lot of CO2 or carbon dioxide into the atmosphere creating a layer of CO2 that traps in heat. The more people release the CO2 the thicker that layer becomes but the less the thinner it becomes. Now water vapor is something we can’t control because it naturally happens

3 regions being affected by Global Warming
Technically every region in the world is effected by global warming but there are some areas that are affected more than others more drastically. Some of these areas include, Antarctica which because of the warming of the Earth ice caps are melting and sea levels are rising. Animals in this region are also being affected such as polar bears, and seals.

4 How will we reduce global warming/climate change
We’ll reduce global warming by increasing the amount of electric powered cars on the road and decrease the number of fossil fuels burned each year. Not only that but the U.K. is developing technology in which electric cars can charge while driving do to cables producing electromagnetic fields that a receiver in the car would then transform into power. At this time they’re testing them on the roads but make sure that regular car drivers can’t drive on them. We will also be converting a lot to wind, hydro, solar, and building more nuclear power plants. In 2013, 40% of the U.S’s energy came from coal- fired, 27% from gas, 19% from nuclear, 6% from hydro, 7% from others (biomass, wind, solar, geothermal, etc.), and other gases <1%.

5 What will the people be doing to help/see
We will be raising sales tax by 20% and yearly taxes by 8% in order to pay for the increase of electric cars, and nuclear power plants, hydro plants, and wind turbines. Nuclear power will not only help fill jobs, but it has a very small amount of carbon released but it does have it’s risks as do all things. To continue, nuclear power produces a lot of power depending upon how long it’s active and how many stacks there are. The uranium that’s used could run more than 200 years. These do not run all the time however, this is do to the fact that workers need sleep so that the plant does not have a meltdown. Stacks are the big cylindrical towers you see releasing white gas. You will also see an increase in hydro power and a few more wind turbine fields in windy areas such as Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota, North Dakota and Iowa. But not in Mississippi, Florida, Kentucky, Georgia, and Alabama. These places will have nuclear power plants. The people may also see an increase in gas prices and a decrease in price of electric cars.

6 Who will be helping China is one of the countries that will be helping since it has cheaper manufacturing. The U.K. because of the new technology for electric cars. Then have Russia and Australia just to be sure that the temperature is not only dropping but steadying. We will also try to get other countries involved if this proves effective. We will have meetings in which we will try our best to have the main leaders here.
