WHY THIS PROJECT

OBJECTIVE To create a safety measurement on fishermen boat and to give a warning to not to cross the national boundary To create a social impact and an awareness on fishermen dead

ABSTRACT Our project aims to design an innovative device which would alert the coastguard when an intruder or poacher is found within the protected sea water using the help of fishermen community. This project also warns and prevents the fishermen in not crossing the national sea border.

INTRODUCTION The primary reason is that coastguard forces cannot monitor the vast sea border of our country at all places and at all the times Every day we hear news about our fishermen killed or imprisoned by neighboring countries when they cross the national sea border inadvertently Our innovative idea frames a conceptual approach in combination with the ARM processor technology

Hardware Peripherals Used:
LPC1313 is a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller from NxP Semiconductors Touchscreen TFT Display with 320 * 240 resolution and 65k colors acts as the GUI interface GPS module for location tracking and GSM module for sending intruder alert SMS A 6-DOF MEMS Compass that is a combination of 3-axis MEMS accelerometer and a 3-axis MEMS magnetometer is used to find the direction of travel of the fishermen boat/ship A Piezo-Buzzer and Vibrating motor to warn the fishermen while approaching borders Hardware Peripherals Used:

Software Tools Used: Programming Language: Embedded C
Development Tool: LPCXpresso IDE (Eclipse based) Embedded Protocols Used: I2C, SPI, UART, 1-Wire, NMEA 0183

Software Libraries Used:

CIRCUIT DIAGRAM

Description: The device allows fishermen to input the relative location of the intrusion using the advanced GUI interface available in the touchscreen device This allows the device to calculate the exact location of the intrusion using the integrated GPS receiver, and radio the information to the nearest coastguard station via GSM communication The device would also warn the fishermen (beep and vibrate) when they approach near the national sea border and controls them to trawl (go fishing) within the safe region.

FUTURE ENHANCEMENTS

Advantages: This project will increase our sea defense by manifold at very low cost. This technology will benefit the poor fishermen and protect the coastal environment. Prevents fishermen killed or imprisoned when they cross the national sea border inadvertently.
