Background
Night nurses might have to rush to nurse station for phone calls at night time
Call might be missed if nurses are far away from the station
It might affect the level of quality and efficiency of nursing care provided

Enhancing ward staff communication during night time by providing portable phone sets

Portable phones were provided for ward staff
Conclusion
It benefits patient care as nurse can carry the phone within the ward that directly helps enhance communication with on-call medical staff / front line staff
