Renewable energy sources

2
The biggest environmental problem
greenhouse gases from human activities are the most significant driver of observed climate change since the mid- 20th century
3
The biggest environmental problem
It is necessary: to limit fossil fuel combustion, to prevent growing deforestation, to reasonably cultivate land, to waste, to save energy We need to invest in new technologies use renewable energy sources, build economical dwellings, prefer a modern clean industry

Renewable energy sources
The evolution of energy consumption on our planet is growing rapidly. Fossil fuel supplies are not so large that humanity can afford to rely entirely on it. In addition, the need to transport them over long distances does not contribute to efforts to maintain sustainable development. For this reason, it is best to use energy directly at the point of its origin. Renewable resources are those that can be regenerated naturally way. For example - biomass - energy of watercourses - geothermal energy - solar energy - wind energy
6
Biomass In our conditions, it is realistic to use forest biomass, including energy crops, agricultural biomass, waste from the wood processing industry and biomass waste from the industrial and communal sphere, for energy purposes.
7
Water energy Nearly 40.8% of the potential of hydropower represents the flows belonging to the Vah river basin. The catchment area of the Hron River has a 34.44% share, Bodrog and Hornad 17.8%. The Danube River Basin has a share of 6.76%. A large proportion of the water energy is dispersed in small water courses, so it is only available in small hydropower plants with a power output of less than 10 MW
8
geothermal energy Slovakia has good conditions for the development and use of geothermal waters energy. On the basis of the research, 25 perspectives areas in Slovakia with the accumulation of geothermal waters with temperatures from 25 to 150 degrees The majority of areas have a water temperature suitable for heating flats and industrial premises.
9
solar energy The amount of solar energy reaching the territory of Slovakia is approximately 200 times larger than the current consumption of primary energy sources in our country. After taking into account the real possibilities of installing solar collectors and using photovoltaic cells, the technically usable potential of solar energy is set at 16% of the total value of renewable energy sources for Slovakia. Of these, 70% should be used in thermal solar collector systems.
10
wind energy It is generally stated that acceptable wind power conditions have locations where the average annual wind speed is higher than 6.5 meters per second, which in Slovakia represents 191 km square, which is only 0.39% of the total area of Slovakia. Sites with lower values are considered to be weak. Areas where wind turbines are best located have the worst conditions in terms of technical implementation.
