Unit 1 Grammar Quiz #2 (NO TALKING) You may use ONLY YOUR OWN journal notes and Springboard pages 13 – 15, 28 – 29 on the test. NO devices of any kind out, period during the testing period. You will get only 25 minutes to take the test! When you are done, turn it in to the teacher. You may work on Springboard p. 89 if done early. NO TALKING until all tests are turned in!

By yourself, using the articles on pp. 83 – 88, fill in the graphic organizer on p. 89 for 40 minutes. You may listen to music with earbuds (no sharing earbuds or phones) while you work without paying stamps! No talking to others – this is an independent activity. If you have questions, ask the teacher for help. At the end of 40 minutes, the teacher will review the answers with you. Write down all answers. You will need them when filling in the outline tomorrow during class.

Strategize – to plan the actions one will take to complete a task. Inference – conclusion about ideas not directly stated. Transcript – written copy or record of a conversation between two or more people. Claim – thesis statement describing the position the writer is taking on an issue.
